Get ready for 2017 with a Pre-holiday Detox

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It is a good idea to have a pre-holiday detox to boost your immune system before the hectic holiday season starts. This will help you stay healthy during this time and come out stronger after the holidays and start 2017 on the right track. For most of us this is also a busy time so let’s look at some easy lifestyle changes you can make over the next couple of weeks that will have you strong as an ox for the best holiday ever!

Start every day with a warm glass of water, add a pinch of sea salt and fresh lemon juice. The negatively charged ions in salt and the trace mineral concentration let it cross into cells- and pull toxins from them, while lemons help balance the body’s pH, are naturally antibacterial, help dissolve uric acid (which means they decrease inflammation in joints), are a natural source of citric acid, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, and encourage the production of bile (for better digestion)

Drink plenty of water during the day, especially during the hot summer days (and nights). Water plays a critical role in detoxification, it carries nutrients to our cells, aids digestion by forming stomach secretions, flushes our bodies of wastes, and keeps our kidneys healthy. It also keeps our moisture-rich organs (our skin, eyes, mouth, and nose) functioning well, it lubricates and cushions our joints, and it regulates our body temperature and our metabolism, just to name a few of its many functions.

Be mindful of what goes into your mouth. Just by paying attention to what you eat and drink you can make a change in how well your body rids itself of toxins. Limit coffee and drink more caffeine free teas. Avoid sugar in all its forms (and there are many!), sugar of any form weakens our immune system. Think organic, raw vegetables and unprocessed food.

Start moving, make sure you do some form of exercise every day, even a walk around the block at lunchtime would be better than staying at your desk. Exercise helps the body’s organs to work optimally in eliminating toxins just by moving you help the body to circulate both blood and lymph. Exercise also helps your mind to clear some clutter which is another form of detox you need!

Sleep more than you usually do, your cells repair themselves more rapidly at night time. During your hours of deep sleep, the body produces higher levels of human growth hormone (HGH), which promotes cellular renewal. Furthermore, since you are not eating during the six to eight hours that you sleep, your digestive system gets a break and your elimination processes can catch up.

Visit your nearest Ginkgo Spa as often as you can, massage plays an important role in detoxification of the boy by improving the circulation systemically to secure a good nutritional supply to all tissues, but a massage treatment also enhances the venous return which is essential for the removal of toxins. Sweating is also very beneficial for detox, visit the Rasul steam room at the Luxury Spa in Arniston, or the sauna at the Petite Spa in Claremont as many times as you can.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”BOOK YOUR TREATMENT” style=”flat” shape=”square” color=”success” size=”lg” align=”left” i_align=”right” i_icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-heartbeat” link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ginkgospa.com%2Fcontact-us%2F||” button_block=”true” add_icon=”true”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
